How do I use a Bento Box?
The idea behind the Bento concept is fun and balanced eating. The Stuck On You Bento Box consists of six handy compartments, including space for dip/sauce/yoghurt.
How you use it is up to you. Many say that Bento Box preparation can be a zen-like experience. See our list of, 100 tasty ideas for your Bento Box.
Alternatively, you may prefer to just throw in some of your favourite snacks - and that’s OK too! Here is a list of the kinds of things you can put in your Bento Box. Please note: The food groups written at the bottom of the compartments are intended as a guide only.
What size is the Bento Box?
Is it leak-proof?
The silicone seal inside the lid keeps food separate and fresh. It is also designed to prevent leakage of thicker liquids such as yoghurts, sauces and dips.
This seal can be removed for easy cleaning.
Can I put liquids inside the Box?
The Bento Box is designed to hold thicker liquids such as yoghurts, sauces and dips. However, it is not designed for runnier liquids such as water and other drinks.
You will also need to be mindful when packing food items like sundried tomatoes or canned fruit pieces, which may ‘leak’ out excess oil or juice. To help prevent this from happening, drain excess liquid as much as possible before placing these food items into the Bento Box.
Is it food safe?
Yes. The Box is made entirely from food-safe materials and is free from BPA and phthalates.
Is it dishwasher safe?
Yes, all parts of the 3-Piece Bento Box are dishwasher safe. Remove the inner tray and the silicone seal from the outer case and pop all three pieces in the top rack of the dishwasher.
It is microwave safe?
No, we do not recommend microwaving any part of your Bento Box.
Is it freezer safe?
We do not recommend putting your Bento Box in the freezer. However, if you want to keep food cool in your Bento, you can use our Cooler Bag and an ice brick (see FAQ below for more details).
How do I keep the Bento Box cool during warmer weather?
We have the perfect insulated Cooler Bag which is specially designed to fit your Bento Box. The bag has a carry handle, easy zip openings and a zip pocket suitable for a slim ice brick.
What are some other uses for a Bento Box?
Do you have a fussy eater? Why not use the Bento tray as a compartmentalised plate for a bit of home mealtime fun?
Perhaps you have a child who’s a bit nervous about starting preschool, school or kinder for the first time. Ease them into the school lunch routine by allowing them to eat out of their Bento Box before the big day.
If you have a young baby or toddler, the Bento Box is the perfect vehicle to feed them on the go, whether you are going to a café, the shops or on a road trip. The compartments mean that you can keep different types of meals fresh and separate without the need for multiple jars and zip lock bags
It’s not just about the kiddies. Adults too can enjoy using a Bento Box for work lunches.
What if I just want a plain cheese sandwich
Check out our Sandwich Tray, which also fits nicely with the Bento Box outer case. The main difference between this and the standard Bento tray is that the Sandwich Tray has a larger compartment that will fit a regular-sized sandwich.

How do I clean my 3-piece Bento?
1. Wash the Bento Box as soon as possible after each use.
2. Separate the inner tray and silicone seal from the outer case.
3. Wash all three parts of the Bento Box thoroughly by hand or in the dishwasher (top rack only).
4. Dry all parts thoroughly with a clean cloth or paper towel.
5. We highly recommend that even once dry, you should keep the parts separate and store them in a well-ventilated area until ready to use again.
